About M. Andrew (Drew) Pierson, L.Ac. Licensed & Board Certified Acupuncturist
I’m a licensed and board certified acupuncturist in the State of California. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2008, with a Masters of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine.
I am currently a Doctoral Fellow at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine specializing in Family Medicine (Mental Health, Orthopedics, Neurology, Women’s Health, Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics.)
I grew up traveling the world with my family as my father served in the Air Force and the U.S. Embassy. I’m a decorated veteran, and served 6 years in the U.S. Navy as a Electronic Engineer on a Fast Attack Nuclear Submarine. Most of my service was spent patrolling the waters under the Arctic Circle and taking part in Desert Storm.
I’m also a board certified neurotherapist and have been practicing Neurotherapy since 1996. I worked in a large neuropsychological practice for 5 years working with 100’s of children and adults with a variety of neurophysiological disorders. I specialized in Attention Disorders, Autism, Seizure Disorders and many other medication resistant conditions.
I am working on my capstone in internal medicine to study and observe the benefits of internal preventative medicine as applied to cardiovascular and circulatory systems. This will have a wide impact on vascular issues ranging from cardiovascular disease to vascular dementia.
I practice in an integrative setting where Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western Medicine and other holistic therapies work together to achieve the most suitable and beneficial protocol for patients. My goal is to create an effective, preventative based quality option for health care by aiding in the integration of Eastern, Western, and, Holistic Medicine.
Other of my specialty interests include mental/neuropsychological issues, adult and pediatric general practice, geriatrics and internal medicine, musculo-skeletal disorders, and female disorders.
I am now in a private integrative practice in San Diego, Ca: Wind Gate Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. Integrating Acupuncture, Neurofeedback, Internal Medicine, Nutrition, Sound Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Chinese Medicine into a complete package of healings. I’m a member of the California State Oriental Medical Association (CSOMA).
